Exemption from university fees

The Politecnico offers total exemption from university fees and taxes to students:

  • who receive or are eligible for an EDISU grant;
  • who are handicapped, with a disability of 66% or over;
  • foreign students who receive a grant from the Italian Government;
  • Ph.D. and post-graduate students who receive a grant from the University;
  • with a political refugee status.

Moreover, students who find themselves facing unexpected and serious difficulties can ask for extraordinary exemptions, even if they have not declared their financial situation according to the usual procedures and deadlines.

Refund

Students who enrol full-time, can obtain a refund of university fees on the basis of academic merit after the first year. This is established on the basis of credits achieved and marks obtained.

Taking a break from your academic career

Students who break off their university studies i.e. who do not sit any exams for one or more years, are exempt from paying fees, but have to pay an amount of 100 € for each missed academic year when they start again.

Part-time work at the university

Another initiative for students managed and financed by the Politecnico is that of paid part-time work of a total of 150 hours, in areas that provide support to both teaching activities and university services.

Grants for international exchange programmes

Several opportunities to go abroad with a mobility programme are available for students enrolled at Politecnico di Torino.

Students on Erasmus+ mobility for study in European countries receive:

  • a monthly grant from the European Union; the amount of this grant varies from 230€ to 280€, according to the cost of living in the destination country;
  • a university grant that varies from 220€ a 240€ per month according to the cost of living in the destination country;
  • an additional grant of 200€ per month for students with ISEE (Equivalent Financial Situation Indicator) <13,000.
