Informing students about scholarships:what effect on the school-to-university transition?

Read the research report

This randomized controlled trial, conducted on a representative sample of final-year high school students in Piedmont, analyzes how providing information about scholarships can influence post-diploma choices.

The findings show, firstly, that only a very small percentage of students are aware of student financial aid benefits. Secondly, that a brief informational intervention has significant, positive effects: it increases both the likelihood of applying for a scholarship and that of continuing on to university education.

In short, informing the student population about financial support policies can serve as a lever to increase university enrollment.
